I aim to give you the freedom to explore whatever you want from the guitar.

I won't just show you what to play. I'll show you how to play.

Learning the guitar isn't just about making music – it's about understanding the music you are making.

Do you want to understand music theory and earn graded qualifications? Or learn how to write music and create full band arrangements? Maybe you'd like to improve your technique or just learn how to play your favourite songs?

Whatever your goals, I will tailor your lessons to your needs.

I’ll teach you the principles of good technique.

Figuring out the fretboard and applying music theory concepts to the guitar can be difficult. And it's easy to unwittingly develop poor playing techniques that make it difficult to advance to the next level.

With my structured system, I will help you make sense of the fretboard and see how music theory concepts relate to it.

I will also show you how to play with relaxed and controlled movements, developing dexterity and flexibility.

Whatever your style, I've got you covered.

I teach plectrum guitar primarily, electric or acoustic in all styles (rock, pop, etc.), including fingerstyle technique as it relates to those styles.

Classical guitar is not my speciality due to a past injury. However, I have spent considerable time learning in that area and can give the best quality classical guitar tuition up to grade 4.

(Remember, grades are optional if you feel it isn't for you.)
